LA County Energy Retrofit Program – stay tuned…

leave a comment »

There have been delays in rolling out the “PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) Financing Program” that was supposed to help LA Homeowners Retrofit their homes to Alternative Energy sources. In fact, it appears as if financing for this program has been halted, because Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac announced they would not take on Mortgages with PACE-Financed Liens. This is currently being fought by Atty. General Jerry Brown, who sued in Federal Court to be able to resume this valuable tool to improve energy efficiency and jump-start sustainable energy alternatives in California.

The PACE initiative was the key element unveiled during May’s Sustainability Summit, an event with Swiss Government participation, with Keynote Speaker Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

PACE Financing is the key to a widespread single-family home implementation of alternative energy solutions.

Switzerland’s Cleantech know-how will hopefully pay an important role in this transformation in making LA among the world’s foremost sustainable Meteopolis’…

Ambitious, but not impossible… Remember Mr, Villaraigosa’s words “LA is a City of Dreamers and a City of Doers”…
